Hindu Forum of Europe and Golden Tours Foundation, wish to thank you for being a part of the  Diwali celebrations at European Parliament on 11th October and 12th October 2017, making the programme doubly successful.

Vatican’s message for Deepavali ‎2017

The Vatican has issued a message for the Hindu festival of Deepavali or Diwali,  inviting Christians and Hindus to join hands to create a healthy society, by going beyond tolerance and genuinely respecting and appreciating the “diversity of cultures and customs within our communities.”

The Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue on Monday released its message for the annual festival of lights, which this year is celebrated on Oct. 18 or 19 in various parts of India.

Diwali at the European Parliament 2017

On the 11th of October the Hindu Forum of Europe organized a Diwali Reception and Dinner at the European Parliament. MEP Geoffrey Van Orden who is the President of the EU-India Delegation hosted the event. The Indian Embassy and its new Ambassador to the EU Gaitri Kumar also supported it. Golden Tours Foundation from the UK sponsored the event. About 200 MEP’s, NGOs, Religious Leaders, Ambassadors and Hindu Leaders participated in the event. We believe these atrocious acts of violence and cowardice do not reflect the values of any religious tradition. Dr Lakshmi Vyas attended a discussion on the Future of Europe between EU officials and the partners of the Commission’s Dialogue with churches, religious, philosophical and non-confessional organisations. The meeting was held on Friday 7th July at Barlaymont Building(European Commission) from 2.30 to 6.00 pm.

Marie Mandakini Spennare of Hindu Forum Sweden shared some pictures of this year’s Rath Yatra that took place in Stockholm Sweden on July 8th.

Rath Yatra or Ratha Jatra or Chariot Festival is a Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath.

The pictures show the happy and Bhakti-filled atmosphere of the gathering which had little children also participating with enthusiasm. There was dance, chanting, and music in honor of Lord Jagannath and the Hindu community of Sweden displayed love for the Lord.

HFE President Lakshmi and Mahaprabhu went to the event organised by the Radha Krishna Temple in honour of Prime Minister of India Modi and Prime Minister of Portugal Costa.
