WOMEN'S INTERNATIONAL DAY 2022
International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, 8 March 2022, HINDU FORUM EUROPE, Religion for Peace and other sister organisations recognise the wonderful roles played by women in different capacities and levels. My tributes are to those poorest women who are more worried about securing food for their children and earning a few pennies for their daily needs.
A lot of women still disproportionately suffer due to poverty, exploitation, violence, including male domination.
I request all of you to empower such women and increase their confidence. We also appreciate women who have come to the forefront to bear great responsibilities and help and protect vulnerable women.
The Pandemic has taught us a bold lesson and encouraged all of us to work for gender equality.
On this International Women’s Day, we unite our voices to: ( as quoted by RfP)
- Acknowledge the injustice that has been done to women through patriarchal interpretations of our religions that contributed to promoting a perception of women as being of lesser value and possessing less mental and spiritual capacity than men.
- Recognize the efforts of all women—and men—who work for peace in families and communities, in every corner of our world;
- Commit to being accountable to support the voices, efforts, and leadership of women in our communities and throughout the world;
