Namaste all
Hindu Forum of Europe wish to express our deepest sympathy for those affected by the terrorist attack in Manchester on 23/5/2017. The heinous act was conducted by Manchester-born Salman Abedi, suspected of detonating a homemade explosive device packed with nuts and bolts at about 10:30 pm, near the foyer of the Manchester Arena, shortly after Miss Grande, the US singer, had finished her performance. His parents were Libyan refugees who came to the UK to escape the Gaddafi regime. The attack left 22 killed most of them children and 59 injured.
HFE condemns such terrorist attacks on innocent people. Britain has opened its heart to people from across the globe, and this should be respected. Solidarity comes from a deep commitment to faith and from the understanding that we are one family of humanity and that we belong to one Supreme. This awareness allows a feeling of belonging to grow and is our greatest protection against prejudice and violence.
Hope such acts do not become repetitive. Every attack took the country several time backwards. Pray for all those who have lost their lives and give strength to their families and friends to tide over the difficult times.
Om shanti!
